Why are exfoliants necessary?
Healthy, regularly keratinised and smooth skin does not need exfoliation. Its germ layer forms skin cells in a controlled manner, which migrate to the skin's surface and transform into keratinised cells. Young skin renews itself monthly, shedding approximately one billion dead cells every day. From the age of 25, the rate of cell division slows down. In old age, the renewal cycle lasts over 60 days, the horny layer thickens, the complexion becomes dull and cosmetic ingredients penetrate less easily. It is therefore necessary to support the skin and use exfoliants.
How do exfoliants work?
Now is the time for exfoliants: when used in the right amount, tailored to your individual needs and applied regularly, they help to keep your skin healthy and smooth. Exfoliants ensure that your skin sheds old skin cells and remove impurities. They also promote blood circulation, stimulate cell renewal and help your skin to better absorb skincare products.

Enzympeelings
Special enzymes can break down the bonds between corneocytes, allowing dead corneocytes to detach from the complex and gradually peel off. The huge advantage of enzymatic peels is that the skin is exfoliated without mechanical stress. Recommended daily to weekly, depending on skin type, even in summer.

Fruit acids
AHAs are used to break down the bonds between keratinocytes. Depending on which acid is used, in what dosage, how often it is applied and at what pH value, the effects range from immediate results such as increased radiance and smoother skin texture to long-term benefits such as improved collagen and elastin production.

Mikrodermabrasion
The gold standard for the mechanical removal of dead skin cells is microdermabrasion at a salon.
